How to play
A one-minute guide to Squiggle.
Get started
No accounts, no sign-up. Just type a display name on the home page. That name is your identity for this game only. Squiggle deletes all game data once the game ends.
Create a game
Tap "Start a new game." Squiggle gives you a 5-digit game code. Text or call that code to your friends so they can join from their own phones.
Play
- Everyone writes a starting phrase — or, if the game host sets the first phrase to Squiggle, everyone starts by drawing a phrase Squiggle wrote.
- On your round, you see either a phrase or a drawing.
- If you see a phrase, draw it. If you see a drawing, describe it in one phrase.
- Submit before the timer runs out. The game host can advance the round when everyone is ready.
- After the last round, the full chains are revealed one chain at a time.
Power-ups
The game host can switch power-ups on. When they do, Squiggle secretly scrambles what people hand over on two surprise rounds — one phrase round and one drawing round.
- Round 1 is always safe, and the round before the finale always gets hit.
- Everyone gets their own random power-up, so your phrase might go full pirate while someone else's drawing turns into 8-bit pixels.
- You never know it happened until the reveal, where Squiggle shows what was made next to what the next player actually saw.
Vote on winners
During the reveal, tap the emoji reactions on your favorite drawings and phrases. Awards are shown at the end, including Crowd Favorite, Funniest, and Most Confusing.
